Before and After Tips and Events for St. Patty’s Day

March in Austin is one of the biggest months of the year. Not only is it warming up again, we have SXSW and the Moto Grand Prix. Since St. Patty’s Day isn’t the only tour de force for our grand city, here are some other ideas to sprinkle into your itinerary.

Sips & Sounds Summer Festival

Austinites celebrate the coming of spring with this lively two-day music festival. The acts are spread across multiple stages, with each offering unique listening experiences. Between getting down and groovy make sure to enjoy some of the best food and drink Austin has to offer.

Rodeo Austin

It wouldn’t be Texas without a world-class rodeo! Austin’s own bronco-bustin’ affair kicks off right around when SXSW is wrapping up. Head on over to the Travis County Expo Center starting March 14th for 15 days of live music, livestock shows, and much more!

A Day of Indulgence: Saint Patrick’s Day

Austin features a dense population of craft breweries and distilleries of all kinds of boozy goodness.  You can’t throw a blarney stone in this town without hitting a green-clad purveyor of traditional barroom eats and drinks every March 17th. A few of our favorite vendors typically have annual Saint Patrick’s Day gatherings: Brewtorium, Central Machine Works and Nomadic.

The Brew Bus

We here at Twisted Texas Tour would never forgive ourselves if we didn’t mention our very own Brew Bus offered the Friday and Saturday. If you want to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day before or after March 17th, let loose your inner leprechaun and take advantage of some of the best brews in Austin! Plus, you get the added bonus of live music from brewery to brewery!

Disclaimer: no Irish jigging while the bus is moving (state policy, not ours).
