Reservations are way recommended, especially for private tours. Some dates can sell out months in advance. But if we have an extra seat, we would love to have you on board. With the exception of our public Weird Austin City Tour, we are unable to accommodate same day reservations.
-
A sense of humor, beverages of your choosing in a cooler lunchbox-sized or similar, a significant other for our “date swap” at the end of the tour (kidding, kidding), and tips for your fabulous tour guide, band, and driver.

Our lovely people are working very hard to make sure you have an amazing, incredible, Instagram-worthy experience. They do this because they love Austin and they love sharing it. But rent is getting pretty ridiculous around here. So tips are always appreciated. We recommend $10 – $20 per guest for our public bus tours, as these tips are split among the tour guide, driver, and each band member. For private tours, a good rule of thumb is the traditional 20% service industry gratuity.
-
For public bus tours, meet your Twisted Texas guide at the Austin Visitors Center, 602 E. 4th Street. Remember that tours do leave on time, so we recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to the tour start time. Private tours start from your location, which will be coordinated with you prior to the tour.

The short answer is, it depends. Check out our page on Food Allergies & Dietary Restrictions for specific information about your dietary needs on your tour. We require at least 48 hours notice to make any accommodations.

Alcohol consumption is allowed onboard tourism vehicles. Except for the driver of course! Coolers are not allowed, with the exception of “lunch-box” sized coolers. If it won’t fit in your middle school locker, you can’t bring it on the bus. Here’s what you can bring on board:
- Wine/Champagne
- Beer/Cider
- Hard Seltzer cans, and any other form of canned fruity drink
NO hard liquor on board the vehicle. However, while having a fun time is encouraged, anyone disrupting the experience of other guests will be asked to leave, with no refund given. If your behavior does result in damages, you will be charged according to policies outlined in our liability waiver.
-
This waiver basically says you won’t be ‘that guy’ (or girl). It says we at Twisted Texas Tour are not responsible for any inappropriate or unsafe shenanigans you may choose to participate in during the tour, and that we are not responsible for what you do after the tour. Drink in moderation, keep yourself and others safe. Easy as pie. You can find a link to the waiver in your booking confirmation or sign it here If you use this link please bring your waiver confirmation to check-in to show your guide.

Austin gets 300 days of sunshine a year, and our lakes slowly turning into puddles is proof there is not too much inclement weather. Most of our tours are driving and/or indoor-oriented, so only super serious weather will be cause for a cancellation. If this happens, you will be notified as soon as possible that the tour will not run. You will be fully refunded if the tour is cancelled due to weather.
-
Cancellation policies differ by tour, you can view your tour’s exact policy on the specific tour page or a generalized summary below:
Public Bus Tours: Full refunds will be given up to 48 before the start of tour for all public tours. Tours canceled by you within 48 hours of the tour start time will not be refunded. We pay many of our vendors weeks in advance and will not be receiving refunds from them for tours canceled so close to the departure day. So control yourself on Sixth Street the night before and come ready for a good time!
Private Tours: Private tours receive a 50% refund when cancelled 48 hours prior to the start of the tour. The other 50% of the tour cost is non-refundable. We now offer travel insurance to give you more flexibility, you can purchase this at time of booking. More details on private tour policies can be found HERE.

Our tours are designed for those who have hit puberty, can drink legally, and have probably had their heart broken or dreams crushed once or twice. If you’re traveling with young-uns, well, the Duck Boats even hand out quackers. Guests must be over 21 for ALL Twisted Texas public tours except the Weird Austin City Tour which is 13+. No babies. No exceptions. Private tours can sometimes make age exceptions, contact us for more details.
-
Sometimes. If you chose to celebrate your special occasion with Twisted Texas (birthday, bachelor, bachelorette) and are traveling with a group of 8 or more, we will gladly reserve seats for you. Just indicate this on the reservation. Be warned though there might be semi-embarrassing, slightly profane shout-outs accompanying this reservation. If easily offended don’t let us know it’s your special day!!
-
No food on the bus. This is not a McDonald’s, eat before you come. In fact, if you’re drinking, we strongly recommend this. Many of our vendors have on-site food trucks, and you are welcome to purchase food to eat at the stops.
-
This bus is temperature climate-controlled with A/C and heat, but Austin does get into triple digits which can sometimes overwhelm our A/C unit so come prepared for the weather!
-
No. Please make arrangements to store your luggage elsewhere while on the tour. The Austin Visitors Center does offer luggage storage for a fee, contact them for more details.
